Frequently asked questions
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Trafalgar runs entirely offline: it makes no network connections at all, so it works in airplane mode too.
Is there an account, advertising or in-app purchases?
None of the three. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to buy and no advertising: every map, fleet and ability is unlocked by playing.
How do I unlock maps, fleets and abilities?
Winning against the AI pays in tactical doubloons — the harder the difficulty, the bigger the reward, and a defeat still pays a consolation. Spend them in the Skill Tree, which holds three separate trees: abilities, fleets and maps.
How many abilities can I take into a match?
Four. Choose them under Loadout in the New Game screen, among the ones you have already unlocked.
Why does my opponent keep shooting?
Because a hit keeps the turn. The turn only passes when a shot lands entirely in the water — and the rule applies to you just the same.
Is my match saved if I close the app?
Yes. The match in progress is saved after every move: reopen the app and Continue picks it up exactly where you left it.
Do my statistics and progression sync between devices?
No. Everything is stored on the device only — there is no cloud sync, because the app has no network access at all. Game data is included in an iPhone or iPad backup, so restoring one on a new device brings it along; deleting the app erases it.
How do I reset my statistics or start the progression over?
Settings → Reset Statistics and Reset Progression. They are two separate actions, and both ask for confirmation because neither can be undone.
Can two people play on the same device?
Yes. Pick two players in the New Game screen: each one deploys in turn, and the handover screen keeps each fleet hidden from the other player. Matches played this way are deliberately left out of your career statistics — they are nobody's record.
Can I draw my own maps?
Yes, with the built-in editor. A custom map needs a name no other map is using, and it has to leave room for every fleet you have unlocked: the editor refuses a map one of them could not be deployed on.
Can I turn the sound or the vibration off?
Yes, in Settings: sound effects, haptics and volume have their own controls. The game also respects the ring switch, and it plays over your own music instead of interrupting it.
